Le présent (the present) is the most common tense and therefore

the first we will look at together.  现在时（le présent）

French verbs are classified into 3 groups;  动词按变位形式一般分成下列 3类

each of them has different endings in the present tense:

Group Infinitive ending Notes

those verbs are regular and easy to conjugate

ex: manger (to eat)
group II ir

end with -issons in the first person plural

ex: finir (to end)
group III ir

hard to conjugate

ex: partir (to leave), atteindre (to reach), pouvoir (to be able to), mettre (to put)
